ENTRETIEN D’EMBAUCHE / JOB INTERVIEW – DIALOGUE BILINGUE

INTRODUCTION

• Catherine is a young adult who is looking for a job in Human Resources (HR). She applied for a few job openings.
• Today, She has a job interview with Veritus Group (VG), a language school that offers language courses to adult immigrants in order to help them integrate their host country.

Entretien / Interview

• RH : Bonjour, je suis ravi(e) de vous rencontrer aujourd’hui. Merci d’être venue. Pouvez-vous vous présenter brièvement ?
• HR: Hello, I’m happy to meet you today. Thank you for coming. Could you briefly introduce yourself?

• CANDIDATE : Je m’appelle Catherine. J’ai 34 ans. Je viens de terminer mon Bac en ressources humaines. Et je recherche un emploi dans mon domaine pour mettre en pratique mes connaissances.                                                 
• CANDIDATE : My name is Catherine. I’m 34 years old. I’ve just completed my Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources. I’m looking for a job in my field to apply what I’ve learned.

• RH : Merci Catherine. Félicitations pour l’obtention de votre diplôme ! Qu’est-ce qui vous a motivée à choisir le domaine des ressources humaines ?
• HR: Thank you, Catherine. Congratulations on earning your degree! What motivated you to choose the human resources field?

• CANDIDATE : Je voulais éviter les mathématiques d’abord. Ensuite, c’est un domaine qui m’a toujours fascinée parce qu’on travaille directement avec l’avenir et la carrière des individus. C’est un champ d’expertise très important dans tous les domaines professionnels. Je voulais m’assurer que je trouverai un emploi peu importe l’organisation.
• CANDIDATE: I wanted to avoid mathematics at first. Then, it’s a field that has always fascinated me because it deals directly with people’s futures and careers. It’s a very important area of expertise in all professional fields. I wanted to make sure I would be able to find a job regardless of the organization.

• RH : C’est très intéressant, merci. Et selon vous, quelles sont les qualités essentielles pour réussir dans les ressources humaines ?
• HR: That’s very interesting, thank you. In your opinion, what are the essential qualities for success in human resources?

• CANDIDATE : Les qualités essentielles sont : avoir une bonne communication aussi bien écrite qu’orale ; être patiente ; avoir une bonne capacité d’analyse pour étudier les différents dossiers ; être capable de s’adapter à des situations variées ; être impartiale et agir avec équité ; et ne pas perdre de vue que la satisfaction du client est ma priorité.
• CANDIDATE: Essential qualities are: having strong communication skills, both written and oral; being patient; having good analytical skills to assess different cases; being able to adapt to various situations; being impartial and acting fairly; and always keeping client satisfaction as my top priority.

• RH : Merci Catherine. Et pour terminer, avez-vous déjà une idée du type d’entreprise ou d’environnement de travail que vous recherchez ?
• HR: Thank you, Catherine. And finally, do you already have an idea of the type of company or work environment you’re looking for?

• CANDIDATE : Ma préférence serait le service public en travaillant comme fonctionnaire du gouvernement fédéral afin de servir le plus de monde possible et de profiter des meilleurs avantages. Mais je ne ferme pas la porte à l’entreprise privée.
• CANDIDATE: My preference would be public service, working as a federal government employee, to serve as many people as possible and to benefit from the best advantages. But I’m not closing the door to the private sector either.

• RH : Merci beaucoup, Catherine. C’est tout pour l’entretien aujourd’hui. Nous reviendrons vers vous d’ici une semaine. Avez-vous des questions pour moi avant de conclure ?
• HR: Thank you very much, Catherine. That’s all for today’s interview. We’ll get back to you within a week. Do you have any questions for me before we finish?

• CANDIDATE : Non. Je n’ai pas d’autres questions. Je vous remercie de considérer ma candidature. J’espère que la réponse sera positive. Merci beaucoup.
